Senior Scientist – Cell Biology
Curve Therapeutics is a highly innovative Biotech company that is delivering pioneering and groundbreaking science and has now established excellent funding from both industry partners and venture capital firms. Our mission is to unlock the therapeutic potential of complex and challenging disease targets that are intractable to traditional discovery methods. We achieve this by using our discovery platform to identify functional Microcycles to modules targets with their native intracellular environment and using these to design and develop a pipeline of small molecule drugs, and we are focusing initially on high priority cancer targets.
This is new role and we are seeking an outstanding and motivated Scientist with experience in a range of cell biology techniques to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our scientific team, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing our drug discovery platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of science within a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop novel (scaled) screening platforms and workflows in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.
- Develop and run a wide range of reporter-based and cell-based screening assays to support discovery target projects.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data, providing detailed scientific reports and presentations at internal project meetings.
- Contribute to ongoing development of the company’s innovative technologies, bringing creative solutions and scientific rigour to our discovery efforts.
Utilise and apply a broad suite of cell biology techniques, including some of the following:
- Flow cytometry, cell sorting and imaging
- Western blotting and protein quantification
- qPCR and RNA quantification
- Virus library design, preparation and transduction
- Cell line engineering
Qualifications and Experience:
- A PhD in, cell biology or molecular biology or a related life science field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in cell-based assay development and qualification, reporter assays, and cell-based screening is highly desirable.
- Practical expertise in flow cytometry, cell sorting, Western blotting, qPCR, and lenti-viral transduction.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate scientific ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a passion for innovation and discovery.
- Prior research experience within industry is highly desirable.
